    It's a mile walk from my house to the train station, and another quarter mile from Union Station to my workplace. No driving for me.

      It is best to go green again.You don't have to worry about parking and street cars are reliable.

                  Easiest to run trains on electricity, which can be generated by wind, sun, etc. Bikes are great but not so practical for some commutes.

                    No choice for all of the above? I walk to work, bike for errands, and regularly use light rail for trips around town.

                      Steet cars or other rail service is not available to me. We may see a comeback 50 yrs from now when we redo the American suburbs.

                        I love Amtrak! Its relaxing, safe, you don't have to worry about stopping for gas or your car breaking down, & the people are really nice

                            Boston rail transit system. However, once I am a finished with school it's a sad reality to go back out west to California's traffic.

                                I live 3 miles from work (intentionally). No suburban commutes for me! The bus takes about 15-20 minutes and I get to read while I ride!

                                            Live in the city, walk to work (1.5 mi./30 min.), bike, use bus and rail for longer trips & Philly Car Share when I need a car ($3.50/hr.)

                                              I walk,bike, ride a horse,sometime use atv's which have the tires that cause minimal damage, and are converted to run pure ethanol.

                                                      I burn e-30 ethanol, gives me the highest octane fuel at the cheapest cost. It is the cleanest burning fuel! The benezene from regular gas causes birth defects and is a carcenegine!
